ASS 2 – Verona 0: The Yellow and Blues unable to avoid defeat at Stadio Brianteo
On Sunday, Hellas Verona suffered an away defeat to AC Monza at Stadio Brianteo. Both ASS and Verona arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. ASS were hoping to get something from this game after losing 2-1 to Bologna in their last match whilst Verona had lost their previous match against Roma. ASS and Verona currently occupy 15th and 20th spots in the table, with 13 points and 5 points respectively after 13 matches.
After a goalless first half, ASS applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Carlos Augusto on the 68 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Andrea Colpani made it 2-0 just before the final whistle to give a final score of 2-0.
Substitutions for ASS included Andrea Petagna, Valentin Antov, Warren Bondo, Andrea Colpani and Samuele Vignato for Gianluca Caprari, Marlon, Stefano Sensi, Matteo Pessina and Dany Mota, respectively. Verona replaced Kevin Lasagna, Filippo Terracciano, Sulemana, Josh Doig and Simone Verdi with Davide Faraoni, Yayah Kallon, Miguel Veloso, Darko Lazovic and Thomas Henry.
The referee booked Armando Izzo, Marlon and Carlos Augusto from ASS. Verona had the worst of it though, with Koray Gunter seeing yellow, and Giangiacomo Magnani then sent off with a red.
ASS will next play Lazio away, with Verona facing Juventus at home.
