Chelsea 3-0 Milan: Potter’s Blues come good as they rout Rossoneri

Chelsea ease to a comfortable 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with FC Salzburg in their previous game. Milan, meanwhile, were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-1 win against Dinamo Zagreb in their last match. both teams are now on 4 points and sit in 2nd and 3rd places respectively after 3 matches.

The Blues started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Wesley Fofana opened the rout, at 24 minutes, ending the first half 1-0.

Chelsea once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang found the net on the 56 minute mark. Chelsea then scored again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Reece James in the 62nd minute to make it 3-0.

Substitutions for Chelsea included Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher, Jorginho, Kai Havertz and Armando Broja for Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling, respectively. Milan brought on Ante Rebic, Matteo Gabbia, Brahim Diaz, Divock Origi and Tommaso Pobega, to replace Charles De Ketelaere, Rade Krunic, Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud and Ismael Bennacer.

There were bookings for Mateo Kovacic and Thiago Silva from Chelsea. For Milan, Rade Krunic, Fode Toure and Fikayo Tomori saw yellow.

Chelsea will next travel to AC Milan, while Milan will face Chelsea at home.
