Stuttgart 0-1 Union Berlin: The Iron Ones return to winning ways
Union Berlin beat Stuttgart with a 1-0 victory on Sunday at Mercedes Benz Arena. Both teams arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Stuttgart were hoping to get something from this game after losing 3-2 to Wolfsburg in their previous fixture whilst Union Berlin were beaten 2-0 in their previous match against Eintracht Frankfurt. Stuttgart are now in 17th place, with 5 points from 9 matches, while Union Berlin sit in 1st, with 20 points from 9.
Following a goalless first half, Union Berlin continued to pile on the pressure in the second period, when Paul Jaeckel gave them the lead on the 76 minute mark, seing the match finish 1-0.
Substitutions for Stuttgart included Chris Fuhrich, Borna Sosa, Pascal Stenzel and Luca Pfeiffer for Silas Wamangituka, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Hiroki Ito and Atakan Karazor, respectively.
