Stuttgart 1 – Frankfurt 3: Visitors steal the show at the Mercedes Benz Arena

Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-1 win over Stuttgart on Saturday, was hard fought at the Mercedes Benz Arena. Stuttgart arrived with the intention of improving their league position after a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich whilst Frankfurt had lost their previous match against Wolfsburg. Stuttgart are now in 16th place, with 5 points from 7 matches, while Frankfurt sit in 6th, with 11 points from 7.

Frankfurt dominated the first half, when Sebastian Rode found the net after only 6 minutes, finishing the first half 1-0.

Frankfurt started the second half with an intensified spirit, thanks to a goal from Daichi Kamada, at 55 minutes. However, The Reds refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Tiago Tomas in the 79th minute. In the end though, The Eagles increased their advantage following a Kristijan Jakic goal just before the final whistle, seing the match finish 3-1.

Substitutions for Stuttgart included Lilian Egloff, Tiago Tomas, Enzo Millot and Thomas Kastanaras for Atakan Karazor, Chris Fuhrich, Naouirou Ahamada and Waldemar Anton, respectively. Frankfurt brought on Rafael Borre, Eric Ebimbe, Timothy Chandler and Hrvoje Smolcic, to replace Sebastian Rode, Randal Kolo Muani, Mario Gotze and Evan N`Dicka.

The referee booked Atakan Karazor and Konstantinos Mavropanos for Stuttgart.

Stuttgart will next travel to Wolfsburg, while Frankfurt will face Union Berlin at home.
