Schalke 0-3 Hoffenheim: Schalke fall to fourth loss in a row

Hoffenheim eased past Schalke in a 3-0 victory on Friday at the Veltins-Arena. Both teams arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Schalke were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 4-0 to Bayer Leverkusen in their previous fixture. Hoffenheim had lost their previous match against Werder Bremen. Schalke and Hoffenheim currently occupy 16th and 3rd spots in the league, with 6 points and 17 points respectively after 10 matches.

From Kraichgau region didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Robert Skov opened the rout, at 11 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Munas Dabbur made it 2-0 just before half-time. The first half ended 2-0.

Hoffenheim continued to pile on the pressure in the second period, when Robert Skov found the net once more, 59 minutes in. The match ended with a 3-0 victory for the visitors.

Substitutions for Schalke included Mehmet-Can Aydin, Kenan Karaman, Jordan Larsson and Sebastian Polter for Cedric Brunner, Simon Terodde, Dominick Drexler and Florent Mollet, respectively. Hoffenheim brought on Sebastian Rudy, Jacob Bruun Larsen, Angelo Stiller, Quaresma and Finn Ole Becker, to replace Dennis Geiger, Munas Dabbur, Christoph Baumgartner, Robert Skov and Georginio Rutter.

There were bookings for Leo Greiml and Dominick Drexler from Schalke, and Kevin Vogt and Grischa Promel, for Hoffenheim.

Schalke will next play Hertha away, with Hoffenheim facing Bayern Munich at home.
