Leipzig 3-0 Dortmund: The Red Bulls blaze past Die Borussen at Red Bull Arena
Borussia Dortmund fell to an away defeat at the hands of RB Leipzig at Red Bull Arena on Saturday. Leipzig were looking forward to playing again after losing 4-0 to Eintracht Frankfurt in their previous fixture. Dortmund were coming from consecutive wins against Hoffenheim and Hertha. Leipzig and Dortmund currently occupy 10th and 4th spots in the table, with 8 points and 12 points respectively after 6 matches.
Leipzig didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Willi Orban opened the rout after only 6 minutes. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Dominik Szoboszlai just before half-time, ending the first half 2-0.
The Red Bulls continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, with a goal from Amadou Haidara, 84 minutes in, seing the match finish 3-0.
Substitutions for Leipzig included Benjamin Henrichs, Josko Gvardiol, Amadou Haidara, Kevin Kampl and Andre Silva for Mohamed Simakan, Abdou Diallo, Emil Forsberg, Konrad Laimer and Timo Werner, respectively. Dortmund brought on Giovanni Reyna, Youssoufa Moukoko, Justin Njinmah and Emre Can, to replace Marius Wolf, Julian Brandt, Salih Ozcan and Anthony Modeste.
