Borussia Dortmund beat Hertha with a thumping 1-0 victory on Saturday at the Olympiastadion. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Hertha were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to B Mönchengladbach. Dortmund lost 3-2 in the last match they played against Werder Bremen. As things stand, Hertha and Dortmund sit 17th, (1 point) and 5th, (9 points), spots respectively, after 4 matches.

Dortmund started the first half well, when Anthony Modeste found the net, 32 minutes in, to take a 1-0 lead into half time. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

Substitutions for Hertha included Stevan Jovetic, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Marco Richter and Davie Selke for Jean-Paul Boetius, Suat Serdar, Dodi Lukebakio and Marc Kempf, repectively. Dortmund replaced Karim Adeyemi, Marius Wolf, Anthony Modeste and Raphael Guerreiro for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Thomas Meunier, Niklas Sule and Thorgan Hazard.

The referee booked Marco Richter for Hertha.

Hertha will next play Augsburg away, with Dortmund facing Hoffenheim at home.
