On Sunday, Wolfsburg suffer an away defeat to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. Bayern were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Wolfsburg had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Werder Bremen. Following today’s result, Bayern and Wolfsburg currently occupy 1st and 15th spots in the table, with 6 points and 1 point respectively after 2 matches.

The Reds scored first, thanks to a goal from Jamal Musiala in the 33rd minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Thomas Muller made it 2-0 just before halftime and saw the first half out 2-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Bayern included Leroy Sane, Mathys Tel and Ryan Gravenberch for Serge Gnabry, Sadio Mane and Jamal Musiala, repectively. Wolfsburg brought on Max Kruse, Felix Nmecha, Luca Waldschmidt, Josip Brekalo and Aster Vranckx for Patrick Wimmer, Mattias Svanberg, Omar Marmoush, Lukas Nmecha and Maximilian Arnold.

There were bookings for Lucas Hernandez and Sven Ulreich from Bayern, and Mattias Svanberg, for Wolfsburg.

Bayern will next play Bochum away, with Wolfsburg facing Schalke at home.
