Augsburg 0-4 Freiburg: Breisgau Brazilians smash four past Augsburg

SC Freiburg’s Christian Streich gets winning start at the WWK Arena. Today’s result, Augsburg are in 17th place in the table and have 0 points while Freiburg sit in 2nd with 3 points after 1 match.

It was an impressive opening from Freiburg, when Michael Gregoritsch opened the rout just before halftime, finishing the first half 1-0.

Freiburg staged a comeback in the second half, with an early goal from Vincenzo Grifo in the 48th minute. Breisgau Brazilians looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Matthias Ginter, at 61 minutes to establish a 3-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Ritsu Doan, at 78 minutes with a final score of 4-0.

Substitutions for Augsburg included Florian Niederlechner, Mads Pedersen, Fredrik Jensen, Ricardo Pepi and Robert Gumny for Ermedin Demirovic, Daniel Caligiuri, Andre Hahn, Elvis Rexhbecaj and Iago, repectively. Freiburg brought on Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Nils Petersen, Noah Weisshaupt, Woo-yeong Jeong and Hugo Siquet, to replace Roland Sallai, Michael Gregoritsch, Vincenzo Grifo, Ritsu Doan and Kiliann Sildillia.

In the second round of action in the Bundesliga Augsburg will travel to play Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg will play Borussia Dortmund at home.
