Vélez 3-1 Central Córdoba: Hosts fight back to pull out impressive win

Vélez Sarsfield’s 3-1 win over Central Córdoba on Wednesday, was hard fought at Alberto Jose Armando. Vélez were hoping to get something from this game after losing 2-0 to Argentinos Juniors in their last match. Central Córdoba were able to continue their winning streak after a 4-1 win against Unión Santa Fe in their last match. Vélez are now in 26th place, with 28 points from 19 matches, while Central Córdoba sit in 16th, with 34 points from 19.

Central Córdoba started the first half well, when Renzo Lopez found the net, 14 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as Lucas Janson equalised for Vélez, 25 minutes in. The score at half time remained 1-1.

Vélez fought back, with an early goal from Walter Bou in the 48th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Walter Bou made it 3-1 on the 75 minute mark to make it 3-1.

Substitutions for Vélez included Jose Florentin, Abiel Osorio, Miguel Brizuela, Mateo Seoane and Elias Cabrera for Nicolas Garayalde, Santiago Castro, Diego Godin, Maximo Perrone and Walter Bou, respectively. Central Córdoba brought on Deian Veron, Hernan Lopez Munoz and Alan Barrionuevo, to replace Gonzalo Torres, Francisco Gonzalez Metilli and Franco Sbuttoni.

The referee booked Leonardo Jara, Santiago Castro and Nicolas Garayalde for Vélez.
