On Friday, Argentinos Juniors suffered an away defeat to Defensa and Justicia at Estadio Norberto Tomaghello. Defensa and Justicia arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 1-0 to Talleres Córdoba in their previous fixture. Argentinos were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Rosario Central in their last match. Defensa and Justicia are now in 19th place, with 22 points from 19 matches, while Argentinos sit in 7th, with 30 points from 19.

Argentinos dominated the first half, when Gabriel Avalos gave them the lead, 24 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as Andy Rios equalised for Defensa and Justicia just before half-time to see out the first half 1-1.

Defensa and Justicia rallied after this and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Gaston Togni, 76 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Defensa and Justicia included Manuel Duarte, Julian Lopez, Lucas Souto and Nicolas Fernandez for Cristian Ortiz, Tomas Ezequiel Galvan, Gabriel Alanis and Andy Rios, respectively. Argentinos replaced Luciano Sanchez, Franco Moyano, Jose Maria Herrera and Javier Cabrera for David Zalazar, Gaston Veron, Andres Roa and Nicolas Reniero.

There were bookings for Kevin Gutierrez from Defensa and Justicia, and Lucas Villalba, Marco Di Cesare and Leonel Gonzalez, for Argentinos.
