Boca 1-0 Talleres: Late Rojo strike gives Boca home success

Boca snatched all three points from Talleres Córdoba in a 1-0 victory on Sunday, at Alberto Jose Armando. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Boca were looking to get back their winning ways after losing 2-1 to San Lorenzo in their last match. Talleres were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Barracas Central. As things stand, Boca are in 10th place, with 12 points from 8 matches, while Talleres sit in 27th, with 5 points from 8.

After an uneventful first half, Boca applied pressure in the second, when Marcos Rojo gave Boca the lead, 79 minutes in. The match ended with a 1-0 victory for Boca.

Both managers used all available substitutions. Substitutions for Boca included Exequiel Zeballos, Luis Vazquez and Cristian Medina for Juan Ramirez, Dario Benedetto and Oscar Romero, repectively, Talleres brought on Francisco Pizzini, Ulises Ortegoza and Julian Malatini to replace Matias Godoy, Rodrigo Villagra and Alan Franco.

The referee booked Juan Ramirez, Guillermo Fernandez, Luis Advincula and Exequiel Zeballos from Boca. Talleres had the worst of it though, with Alan Franco, Rafael Perez and Enzo Diaz seeing yellow, and Rafael Perez (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Boca will next travel to Argentinos Juniors, while Talleres will face Banfield at home.
