Atlético Tucumán 1-1 Godoy Cruz: Visitors mount second-half fightback to earn a point

Atlético Tucumán were held to 1-1 draw by Godoy Cruz down on Tuesday at Estadio Monumental Jose Fierro. Atlético Tucumán arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a scoreless draw against Defensa and Justicia in their previous match. Godoy Cruz, on the other hand, were coming from a 2-1 win against Defensa and Justicia. As the table looks today, both teams are on 7 points and sit in 11th and 10th places respectively after 5 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Atlético Tucumán, with a goal from Ramiro Carrera, 27 minutes in, ending the first half 1-0.

Godoy Cruz took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Cristian Chavez at the 74 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Atlético Tucumán included Renzo Ivan Tesuri and Eugenio Isnaldo for Ciro Rius and Ignacio Maestro Puch, repectively. Godoy Cruz brought on Matias Ramirez, Elias Lopez, Cristian Chavez, Bruno Leyes and Tomas Badaloni, to replace Gonzalo Abrego, Pier Barrios, Tadeo Allende, Ezequiel Bullaude and Salomon Rodriguez.

There were bookings for Ramiro Carrera, Ciro Rius and Guillermo Acosta from Atlético Tucumán, and Gianluca Ferrari, for Godoy Cruz.

Atlético Tucumán will play away against Vélez Sarsfield, while Godoy Cruz will face Colón at home.
