Reggina 2-1 Genoa: Visitors unable to get win at Stadio Oreste Granillo

Reggina beat Genoa with a 2-1 victory on Monday at Stadio Oreste Granillo. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. REG arrived with the intention of improving their league position after a 1-1 draw against Cagliari. Genoa had secured a point against Brecia Calcio in their previous match. both teams are now on 22 points and sit in 2nd and 3rd places respectively after 12 matches.

It was an impressive opening from REG, when Canotto gave them the lead, 15 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as Aramu equalised for The Griffin, 33 minutes in. The first half ended 1-1.

REG started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Hernani found the net in the 54th minute. The match ended with a 2-1 victory for REG.

Substitutions for REG included Gori, Cicerelli, Crisetig, Cionek and Liotti for Ménez, Rivas, Majer, Giraudo and Canotto, respectively. Genoa brought on Yalcin, Portanova, Hefti and Yeboah for Gudmundsson, Jagiello, Czyborra and Aramu.
