REG 3 – CTT 0: Bad day for visitors at Stadio Oreste Granillo

Reggina banked all three points against the Cittadella in a 3-0 victory on Saturday, at Stadio Oreste Granillo. Both teams arrived on the back of wins. REG were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Pisa away and Palermo FC at home, by 1-0 and 3-0 respectively while CTT had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Frosinone. REG and CTT sit 1st, (15 points) and 11th, (8 points), in the league respectively, after 6 matches.

It was an impressive opening from REG, when Gagliolo opened the rout in the 22nd minute. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

REG continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Fabbian found the net, 58 minutes in. REG then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Gori just before the final whistle to give a final score of 3-0.

Substitutions for REG included Hernani, Liotti, Cicerelli, Gori and Camporese for Crisetig, Fabbian, Canotto, Ménez and Rivas, respectively. CTT replaced Pavan, Baldini, Carriero, Antonucci and Raúl Asencio for Tounkara, Lores, Vita, Beretta and Magrassi.

There were bookings for Fabbian, Crisetig and Gagliolo from REG. For CTT, Donnarumma, Carriero, Frare and Tounkara saw yellow.

REG will play their next fixture away against Modena, while CTT will face Ternana Calcio at home.
