Tottenham 6-2 Leicester: Son the star as The Foxes blown away by Spurs
Leicester City on away loss to Spurs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday. Spurs were looking to continue their good run, following a 2-1 victory against Fulham while Leicester were beaten 5-2 in their previous match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Spurs are now in 2nd place, with 17 points from 8 matches, while Leicester sit in 20th, with 1 point from 8.
The Foxes didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Youri Tielemans found the net after only 6 minutes. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Harry Kane producing an equaliser on the 8 minute mark, bringing Spurs level. Spurs looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Eric Dier after 21 minutes to establish a 2-1. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, James Maddison managing to equalize on the 41 minute mark 2-2. However, The Lilywhites then grabbed a goal from Rodrigo Bentancur just before half-time. The first half ended 3-2.
Spurs continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Heung Min Son, 73 minutes in. The momentum was again with The Lilywhites, who then scored again courtesy of a effort from Heung Min Son on the 84 minute mark to establish a 5-2 result. They then extended the lead with a hat trick effort from Heung Min Son just before the final whistle to give a final score of 6-2.
Substitutions for Spurs included Emerson, Cristian Romero, Heung Min Son and Yves Bissouma for Ivan Perisic, Davinson Sanchez, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski, respectively.
