Forest 2-2 Brentford: Forest resuce a point as VAR dominates clash
Forest were helde ach other to a 2-2 draw by Brentford on Saturday at City Ground. Forest arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 5-0 to Arsenal in their last match. Brentford, meanwhile, had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Forest are now in 20th place on the table and have 10 points while Brentford sit in 10th with 16 points after 15 matches.
Forest started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Morgan Gibbs-White found the net on the 20 minute mark. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Bryan Mbeumo equalised for The Bees just before half-time, ending the first half 1-1.
Brentford took the lead in the second half, when Yoane Wissa found the net, at 75 minutes. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as Zanka equalised for Red dogs just before the final whistle. The final result, Forest 2, Brentford 2.
Substitutions for Forest included Lewis O’Brien, Taiwo Awoniyi, Jesse Lingard and Sam Surridge for Cheikhou Kouyate, Emmanuel Dennis, Remo Freuler and Steve Cook, respectively. Brentford brought on Frank Onyeka, Mikkel Damsgaard, Sergi Canos, Zanka and Saman Ghoddos, to replace Vitaly Janelt, Keane Lewis-Potter, Pelenda Da Silva, Bryan Mbeumo and Mathias Jensen.
There were bookings for Ryan Yates and Dean Henderson from Forest. For Brentford, Vitaly Janelt and Bryan Mbeumo saw yellow.
Forest will play at home against Crystal Palace, while Brentford will face Manchester City away.
