Toronto 2-2 New England: Criscito rescues the Reds at home against the Revs
Toronto were held to 2-2 draw by Revs down on Thursday at BMO Field. As it stands, Toronto are in 10th place in the table and have 30 points while Revs sit in 6th with 34 points after 36 matches.
Toronto started the first half well, when Bernardeschi found the net, 30 minutes in. However, their lead was short lived, as Mcnamara equalised for Revs at the 37 minute mark, which brought Bruce Arena’s squad level at 1-1 at the half time break
Revs started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from Rennicks in the 48th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Criscito equalised for Toronto in the 76th minute and saw the match end 2-2.
Substitutions for Toronto included Jesús Jiménez and Kerr for Nelson and Akinola, repectively. Revs brought on Polster, Buck and Bajraktarevic, to replace Kaptoum, Boateng and Rennicks.
There were bookings for Akinola and Laryea from Phili. For Revs, Makoun saw yellow.
Revs and Toronto will next play away to Montréal and Inter Miami respectively.
