Kansas 4-2 Galaxy: Wizards secure maximum points at Children’s Mercy Park
Sporting Kansas City snatched all three points from LA Galaxy in a 4-2 victory on Sunday, at Children’s Mercy Park. As things stand, Kansas and Galaxy are 14th, (23 points) and 9th, (30 points), in the league respectively, after 34 matches.
Wizards started the first half well, when Thommy found the net, at 10 minutes. The momentum was now with Kansas, who then scored again through a goal from Agada at the 44 minute mark to establish a 2-0. Kansas then scored again and increased their lead thanks to a 2nd effort from Agada just before halftime. The score at half time was 3-0.
Galaxy took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Chicharito, 85 minutes in. The momentum was now with Galaxy, who then scored again through a second effort from Chicharito, 92 minutes in to establish a 3-2. Kansas in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Salloi. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 4-2 to Kansas.
Substitutions for Kansas included Hernandez, Rosell and Tzionis for Espinoza, Thommy and Agada, repectively. Galaxy brought on Araujo, Edwards, Alvarez, Grandsir and Saldana, to replace Leerdam, Chase Gasper, Costa, Cabral and Brugman.
There were bookings for Espinoza from Kansas. For Galaxy, Williams, Chase Gasper and Chicharito saw yellow.
Kansas will next travel to Austin, while Galaxy will face Vancouver Whitecaps at home.
