Columbus 1-2 Montreal: The Crew collapse and slip to late defeat
Montreal snatched all three points from Columbus Crew with a 2-1 victory on Thursday, at MAPFRE Stadium. As it stands, Columbus and MON currently occupy 5th and 4th spots in the league, with 33 points and 36 points respectively after 33 matches.
Columbus started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Zelarayán gave The Crew the lead in the 14th minute. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end, but Montreal found an equaliser two minutes from time, before winning the match deep into stoppage time.
Substitutions for Columbus included Degenek, Yeboah, Igbekeme and Artur for Williams, Etienne, Díaz and Zelarayán, respectively. MON replaced Lappalainen, Piette, Quioto, Johnston and Toye with Brault-Guillard, Wanyama, Choiniere, Torres and Mihailovic.
There were bookings for Díaz from Columbus. For MON, Waterman saw yellow.
