Querétaro 2 – Xolos 0: Los Gallos Blancos secure 3 points at home against Los Xolos

Querétaro strolled past Tijuana with a 2-0 win on Sunday at Estadio La Corregidora. Querétaro wanted to improve their league standing after a 1-1 draw against Mazatlán. Xolos were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Cruz Azul in their last match. Following today’s result, Querétaro and Xolos sit 18th, (7 points) and 4th, (14 points), in the league respectively, after 10 matches.

Querétaro started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Pablo Barrera in the 3rd minute. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Los Gallos Blancos continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Angel Sepulveda just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Querétaro included Angel Sepulveda, Jorge Hernandez, Raul Torres and Daniel Cervantes for Jose Angulo, Leonardo Sequeira, Rodrigo Lopez and Pablo Barrera, repectively. Xolos brought on Edgar Lopez, Jose Vazquez, Renato Ibarra and Misael Doíinguez, to replace Franco Di Santo, Christian Rivera, Lucas Rodriguez and Alexis Canelo.

There were bookings for Leonardo Sequeira, Jordan Silva, Pablo Barrera and Raul Torres from Querétaro, and Nicolas Diaz, Jose Vazquez and Ismael Govea, for Xolos.

Querétaro will play their next game away against Cruz Azul, while Xolos will face Monterrey at home.
