Puebla 1 – Santos 0: Points secure as Los Camoteros ease past Guerreros
Puebla snatched all three points from Santos Laguna in a 1-0 victory on Saturday, at Estadio Cuauhtemoc. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Puebla were looking to pick up points, following a 4-2 victory against Mazatlán. Santos, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 4-3 victory against Monterrey. As the table looks today, Puebla are in 1st place, with 6 points from 2 matches, while Santos sit in 7th, with 3 points from 2.
Puebla started the match well, when Gustavo Ferrareis found the net, at 11 minutes to see out the first half 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.
Substitutions for Puebla included Lucas Maia, Ivan Moreno, Martin Barragan, Ivo Vazquez and Luis Arcadio Garcia for Federico Mancuello, Jordi Cortizo, Omar Fernandez, Maximiliano Araujo and Gustavo Ferrareis, repectively. Santos brought on Hugo Rodriguez, Jair Gonzalez, Javier Correa, Juan Brunetta and Alan Cervantes, to replace Ronaldo Prieto, Carlos Orrantia, Leonardo Suarez, Eduardo Aguirre and Brian Lozano.
