Puebla 1 – León 1: Points shared with visitors at Estadio Cuauhtemoc

On Saturday, Puebla and León were held to a 1-1 draw at Estadio Cuauhtemoc. Puebla were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Santos Laguna at home (1-0), the other to Mazatlán away (4-2). León had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Pumas. As the table looks today, Puebla are in 1st place, with 6 points from 3 matches, while León sit in 5th, with 4 points from 3.

Puebla started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Omar Fernandez found the net, 21 minutes in to take them into the break 1-0 up.

León took the lead in the second half, when Lucas Di Yorio found the net just before the final whistle. The match ended wih a 1-1 draw.

Substitutions for Puebla included Ivo Vazquez, Martin Barragan, Daniel Aguilar and Ivan Moreno for Jordi Cortizo, Omar Fernandez, Federico Mancuello and Gustavo Ferrareis, repectively. León replaced Victor Davila, Angel Mena, Oscar Villa and Jorge Diaz with Federico Martinez, Luis Montes, Yairo Moreno and Joel Campbell.

The referee booked from Puebla Maximiliano Araujo, Jordi Cortizo and Daniel Aguilar and from León Yairo Moreno and Stiven Barreiro. Both teams also had a sending off, with Maximiliano Araujo (2 yellow cards) for Puebla and Stiven Barreiro (2 yellow cards) for León.
