Puebla 2 – Juárez 2: Estadio Cuauhtemoc sees frustrating draw
Puebla were held to 2-2 draw by Juárez down on Saturday at Estadio Cuauhtemoc. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Puebla were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Deportivo Toluca in their previous game while Juárez were unable to beat Atl. San Luis in a 1-1 draw. As the table looks today, Puebla are in 7th place in the table and have 14 points while Juárez sit in 12th with 12 points after 11 matches.
Los Camoteros found the net first, with an early goal from Maximiliano Araujo in the 2nd minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Carlos Fierro equalised for Juárez in the 18th minute, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.
Puebla started the second half with an intensified spirit, with a goal from Martin Barragan in the 53rd minute. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Matias Garcia equalised for Los Bravos, 69 minutes in and saw the match end 2-2.
Substitutions for Puebla included Emilio Martinez, Amaury Escoto, Jozy Altidore and Ivo Vazquez for Ivan Moreno, Gustavo Ferrareis, Martin Barragan and Maximiliano Araujo, repectively. Juárez brought on Francisco Nevarez, Mauro Lainez, Darwin Machis, Jaime Gomez and Alejandro Arribas, to replace Alberto Acosta, Carlos Fierro, Jesus Duenas, Alan Medina and Matias Garcia.
