Pachuca strolled past Tigres UANL with a 2-0 win on Monday at Estadio Miguel Hidalgo. Pachuca wanted to improve their league standing after a scoreless draw against Guadalajara in their previous match. Tigres were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Querétaro and Juárez. After today’s result, Pachuca are in 5th place in the table and have 12 points while Tigres sit in 3rd with 15 points after 7 matches.

Los Tuzos started strongly in the first half, when Nicolas Ibanez found the net at the 16 minute mark to see out the first half 1-0.

Pachuca continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Nicolas Ibanez found the net again in the 60th minute, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Pachuca included Marino Hinestroza, Paulino De la Fuente Gomez, Bryan Gonzalez and Illian Hernandez for Romario Ibarra, Victor Guzman, Aviles Hurtado and Nicolas Ibanez, repectively. Tigres brought on Luis Quinones, Vladimir Lorona and Francisco Venegas, to replace Nicolas Lopez, Raymundo Fulgencio and Guido Pizarro.

The referee booked Kevin Alvarez, Nicolas Ibanez and Aviles Hurtado from Pachuca. Tigres had the worst of it though, with Igor Lichnovsky and Vladimir Lorona seeing yellow, and Jesus Angulo then sent off with a red.

Pachuca will play away against Juárez, while Tigres will face Santos Laguna at home.
