Necaxa 1 – Juárez 0: Los Bravos unable to avoid defeat at Estadio Victoria

Necaxa’s 1-0 win over Juárez on Saturday, was hard fought at Estadio Victoria. Necaxa were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Pumas while Juárez secured a point against Querétaro in their previous match. As it stands, Necaxa are in 7th place in the table and have 6 points while Juárez sit in 9th with 5 points after 4 matches.

Necaxa started the first half well, when Facundo Batista gave Los Rayos the lead, 36 minutes in. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Necaxa included Fernando Madrigal, Bryan Garnica, Jose Godinez and Vicente Poggi for Angelo Araos, Dieter Villalpando, Facundo Batista and Milton Gimenez, repectively. Juárez brought on Dario Lezcano, Mauro Lainez, Candido Ramirez and Jose Garcia, to replace Maximiliano Silvera, Alan Medina, Jaime Gomez and Maximiliano Olivera.

The referee booked from Necaxa Edgar Mendez, Milton Gimenez, Jose Jaoquin Esquivel, Vicente Poggi and Angel Malagon and from Juárez Alberto Acosta and Javier Salas. Both teams also had a sending off, with Edgar Mendez (2 yellow cards) for Necaxa and Alberto Acosta (2 yellow cards) for Juárez.

Juárez and Necaxa will next play at home to Tigres UANL and Pachuca respectively.
