Cruz Azul 1 – Pachuca 2: Los Tuzos travel to Estadio Azteca and seal win

Pachuca enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Cruz Azul at Estadio Azteca on Sunday. Both Cruz Azul and Pachuca arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Cruz Azul were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Pachuca were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-0 victory against Querétaro. As it stands, both teams are on 3 points and sit in 6th and 5th places respectively after 2 matches.

Los Tuzos scored first, when Gustavo Cabral gave Pachuca the lead, 36 minutes in. Pachuca then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Luis Chavez just before halftime to see out the first half 2-0.

Cruz Azul took the initiative in the second half, when Santiago Gimenez found the net just before the final whistle. The match ended with a 2-1 victory for Pachuca.

Substitutions for Cruz Azul included Carlos Rodriguez, Carlos Rotondi and Ivan Morales for Christian Tabo, Juan Escobar and Angel Romero, repectively. Pachuca brought on Marino Hinestroza, Roberto De La Rosa, Pedro Pedraza, Jahaziel Marchand and Israel Luna, to replace Jesus Daniel Hernandez Casiano, Victor Guzman, Erick Sanchez, Luis Chavez and Aviles Hurtado.

There were bookings for Luis Abram and Alejandro Mayorga from Cruz Azul. For Pachuca, Carlos Moreno saw yellow.

Cruz Azul will next play Atlas away, with Pachuca facing Mazatlán at home.
