Port Vale 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday: The Owls get the win at Vale Park
Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed an away victory against Port Vale at Vale Park on Saturday. Port Vale were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 3-0 to Peterborough United in their last match. SWFC were coming off the back of a 3-1 win against Wycombe Wanderers. Port Vale are now in 16th place on the table and have 12 points while SWFC sit in 3rd with 23 points after 12 matches.
Following a goalless first half, SWFC continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Will Vaulks gave them the lead, 63 minutes in, seing the match finish 1-0.
Substitutions for Port Vale included Lewis Cass, Dennis Politic, Ademipo Odubeko, David Worrall and Daniel Butterworth for Dan Jones, Brad Walker, James Wilson, Gavin Massey and Malvind Benning, respectively. SWFC brought on Callum Paterson and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, to replace Mallik Wilks and Josh Windass.
There were bookings for Tom Conlon, Dan Jones and Ellis Harrison from Port Vale, and Callum Paterson, for SWFC.
