Port Vale 2-2 Forest Green Rovers: The Valiants drop points at home
Port Vale were helde ach other to a 2-2 draw by Rovers on Saturday at Vale Park. Both Port Vale and Rovers arrived fresh from some positive results. Port Vale were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run, following a 2-1 victory against Derby County. Rovers were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Bolton Wanderers in their last match. Port Vale are now in 17th place, with 16 points from 14 matches, while Rovers sit in 21st, with 12 points from 14.
Rovers started strongly in the first half, when Myles Peart-Harris gave them the lead in the 14th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Baily Cargill made it 2-0 in the 37th minute and saw the first half out 2-0.
The Valiants took the lead in the second half, when Ademipo Odubeko found the net after 78 minutes. Port Vale then netted once more and found an equaliser thanks to a penalty goal from Ellis Harrison just before the full time to make it 2-2.
Substitutions for Port Vale included Lewis Cass, Daniel Butterworth, David Worrall, Ademipo Odubeko and Connor Hall for Nathan Smith, Ben Garrity, Liam McCarron, Dennis Politic and Dan Jones, respectively.
