Morecambe FC 1-2 Ipswich Town: Visitors steal the show at Globe Arena

Ipswich Town beat Morecambe FC with a 2-1 victory on Saturday at Globe Arena. Morecambe FC were hoping to get something from this game after losing 3-1 to Accrington Stanley in their last match whilst Ipswich Town were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-2 victory against Portsmouth FC. Morecambe FC are now in 24th place on the table and have 7 points while Ipswich Town sit in 2nd with 30 points after 13 matches.

Morecambe FC started strongly in the first half, when Kieran Phillips gave them the lead, 34 minutes in, ending the first half 1-0.

Ipswich Town started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when George Edmundson found the net on the 54 minute mark. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Lee Evans, at 65 minutes to give a final score of 2-1.

Both managers used all available substitutions. Substitutions for Morecambe FC included Ryan Cooney and Adam Major for Ousmane Fane and Dylan Edward Connolly, respectively, Ipswich Town brought on Wes Burns, Marcus Harness, Kane Vincent-Young and Freddie Ladapo, to replace Kayden Jackson, Conor Chaplin, Leif Davis and Tyreece John-Jules.

There were bookings for Ousmane Fane, Ryan Delaney, Jacob Bedeau, Farrend Rawson and Donald Love from Morecambe FC. For Ipswich Town, Lee Evans saw yellow.

Morecambe FC will next travel to Burton Albion, while Ipswich Town will face Lincoln City at home.
