Forest Green Rovers 0-2 Shrewsbury: Visitors secure points with win at The New Lawn
Shrewsbury Town banked all three points against the Forest Green Rovers in a 2-0 victory on Saturday, at The New Lawn. Rovers were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 5-0 to Sheffield Wednesday. Shrewsbury Town were unable to beat Bristol Rovers in a 1-1 draw. Rovers are now in 23rd place on the table and have 4 points while Shrewsbury Town sit in 13th with 9 points after 7 matches.
Shrewsbury Town started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Rekeil Pyke gave them the lead in the 10th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.
Shrewsbury Town started the second half with renewed vigour, with an early goal from Jordan Shipley in the 48th minute, which sealed the victory for the visitors.
Rovers brought on Christian Marques, David Davis and Bryan Fiabema for Jordan Moore-Taylor, Regan Hendry and Josh March. Shrewsbury Town brought on Christian Saydee, Robert Street and Carl Winchester, to replace Ryan Bowman, Rekeil Pyke and Tom Bayliss.
