Forest Green Rovers 0-3 Plymouth: Home side left shocked by plundering visitors

Plymouth Argyle ease to a comfortable 3-0 win at The New Lawn. Rovers were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Lincoln City. Plymouth Argyle, on the other hand, were beaten 5-1 in the previous match against Charlton Athletic. Following today’s result, Rovers are in 20th place, with 4 points from 5 matches, while Plymouth Argyle sit in 5th, with 9 points from 5.

Plymouth Argyle started the first half well, when Finn Azaz opened the rout, 18 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Bali Mumba, at 27 minutes, ending the first half 2-0.

Plymouth Argyle continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Niall Ennis found the net, 61 minutes in, leaving the final score at 3-0.

Substitutions for Rovers included Sean Dominic Robertson, Connor Wickham, Armani Little and Jamille Matt for Kyle McAllister, Josh March, Jordan Moore-Taylor and Reece Brown, repectively. Plymouth Argyle replaced Morgan Whittaker, Ryan Hardie, Jordan Houghton and Macauley Gillesphey with Finn Azaz, Niall Ennis, Danny Mayor and Bali Mumba.

There were bookings for Regan Hendry from Rovers, and Bali Mumba, for Plymouth Argyle.

Rovers will next play Sheffield Wednesday away, with Plymouth Argyle facing Bolton Wanderers at home.
