Forest Green Rovers 0-4 Exeter: The Grecians romp to huge away victory
Exeter City delivered a resounding 4-0 victory against Rovers on Saturday, at The New Lawn. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Rovers were looking forward to playing again after losing 2-1 to Morecambe FC in their previous fixture. Exeter had lost their previous match against Burton Albion. Rovers are now in 22nd place, with 8 points from 11 matches, while Exeter sit in 6th, with 14 points from 11.
The Grecians started strongly in the first half, when Sam Nombe opened the rout early in the first half. The momentum was again with Exeter, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Jevani Brown, 26 minutes in to establish a 2-0 result. However they weren’t finished yet and Jevani Brown made it 3-0 just before half-time, which saw the first half end 3-0.
Exeter continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Jevani Brown found the net once more, 83 minutes in. When the final whistle blew, the result was 4-0 to Exeter.
Substitutions for Rovers included Bryan Fiabema, Josh March, Armani Little and Reece Brown for Kyle McAllister, David Davis, Myles Peart-Harris and Regan Hendry, respectively. Exeter brought on Matt Jay, Harry Smith and Kgaogelo Chauke, to replace Jay Stansfield, Sam Nombe and Jevani Brown.
There were bookings for Ben Stevenson, Josh March and Bryan Fiabema from Rovers, and Jay Stansfield, for Exeter.
Rovers will play away against Burton Albion, while Exeter will face Bristol Rovers at home.
