Bolton 3-1 Charlton: Trotters snap losing streak with good home win

Charlton Athletic on away loss to Bolton Wanderers at University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday. Bolton Wanderers were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 2-0 to Plymouth Argyle. Charlton Athletic, meanwhile, were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Bolton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic currently occupy 8th and 12th spots in the table, with 11 points and 9 points respectively after 7 matches.

Charlton Athletic started strongly in the first half, with an early goal from Scott Fraser in the 4th minute. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Conor Bradley in the 9th minute brought Bolton Wanderers level. Bolton Wanderers then netted once more and turned the match thanks to a goal from Kieran Lee just before half-time, ending the first half 2-1.

Bolton Wanderers once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when George Johnston found the net in the 76th minute, leaving the final score at 3-1.

Bolton Wanderers brought on Oladapo Afolayan, Kyle Dempsey, Elias Kachunga and Aaron Morley for Amadou Bakayoko, Kieran Lee, Dion Charles and George Thomason. Charlton Athletic brought on Miles Leaburn and Corey Blackett-Taylor, to replace Charlie Kirk and Albie Morgan.

There were bookings for Gethin Jones from Bolton Wanderers, and Samuel Lavelle, for Charlton Athletic.

Bolton Wanderers will next travel to Cheltenham Town, while Charlton Athletic will face Exeter City at home.
