Accrington 4-4 Burton: The Crown Ground sees thrilling draw

On Saturday, Accrington Stanley and Burton Albion were held to a 4-4 draw at The Crown Ground. Accrington Stanley were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Burton Albion were beaten 4-0 in the previous match against Bristol Rovers. As the table looks today, Accrington Stanley are in 10th place in the table and have 5 points while Burton Albion sit in 22nd with 1 point after 3 matches.

Burton Albion started strongly in the first half, when Davis Keillor-Dunn gave Burton Albion the lead, 10 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Davis Keillor-Dunn made it 2-0, at 17 minutes, concluding the first half 2-0.

Burton Albion started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early hat trick effort from Davis Keillor-Dunn in the 50th minute. However, Accrington Stanley weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Joe Pritchard in the 52nd minute. Accrington Stanley looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Sean McConville in the 57th minute to establish a 3-2. However, Burton Albion increased their lead following a Gassan Ahadme goal at the 81 minute mark to make it 4-2. However, Accrington Stanley weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Josh Woods at the 90 minute mark. Accrington Stanley then netted again and snatched an equaliser thanks to a goal from Rosaire Longelo just before the final whistle to make it 4-4.

Substitutions for Accrington Stanley included Rosaire Longelo, Tommy Leigh, Korede Yemi Adedoyin, Seamus Conneely and Josh Woods for Baba Fernandes, Shaun Whalley, Matt Lowe, Liam Coyle and Joe Pritchard, repectively. Burton Albion brought on Adedeji Oshilaja, Joe Powell and Louis Moult for Calum Butcher, Jonny Smith and Victor Adeboyejo.

Accrington Stanley will play away against Forest Green Rovers, while Burton Albion will face Ipswich Town at home.
