Valencia 1-0 Girona: Soler secures the points for The Bats at Mestalla

Girona open LaLiga season with a defeat against Valencia. Today’s result, Valencia are in 4th place in the table and have 3 points while Girona sit in 19th with 0 points after 1 match.

The Bats started the first half well, when Carlos Soler gave Valencia the lead just before halftime The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Valencia included Cristhian Mosquera, Dimitri Foulquier, Lato Toni, Nicolas Gonzalez and Maxi Gomez for Hugo Duro, Carlos Soler, Jesus Vazquez, Samu Castillejo and Lino, repectively. Girona replaced Oscar Urena Garci, Cristhian Stuani, Miguel Gutierrez, Yangel Herrera and Martinez Arnau with Samuel Saiz, David Lopez, Valery Fernandez, Ramon Terrats and Yan Couto.

The referee booked six players. Thierry Correia and Jesus Vazquez from Valencia, who saw yellow cards and Eray Comert, sent off with a red, as well as for Girona Yan Couto, Samuel Saiz and Valery Fernandez also seeing yellows.

In the second round of action in the LaLiga Valencia will travel to play Athletic Bilbao and Girona will play Getafe at home.
