Real Madrid 3-1 Barcelona: Los Blancos too strong for Barca in El Clásico
R Madrid beat Barcelona with a 3-1 victory on Sunday at Santiago Bernabeu. Both RMA and Barca arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. RMA were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match whilst Barca were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Celta Vigo and Mallorca. RMA are currently 1st with 25 points from 9 matches, while Barca sit in 2nd, with 22 points from 9.
The first half of the match started favourably for RMA, when Karim Benzema gave them the lead in the 12th minute. Los Blancos then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Federico Valverde on the 35 minute mark to secure a 2-0 win.
Barca took the initiative in the second half, when Ferran Torres found the net, 83 minutes in. In the end though, RMA increased their advantage following a Rodrygo goal just before the full time, seing the match finish 3-1.
Substitutions for RMA included Eduardo Camavinga, Rodrygo, Marco Asensio and Antonio Rudiger for Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema and Dani Carvajal, respectively. Barca brought on Ferran Torres, Gavi, Jordi Alba, Ansu Fati and Franck Kessie, to replace Raphinha, Sergio Busquets, Alejandro Balde, Ousmane Dembele and Pedri.
