Celta Vigo 1-4 Real Madrid: Los Blancos deliver ruthless away win at Celta
R Madrid on a 4-1 win against Celta Vigo on Saturday at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos. Celta wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Espanyol in their previous game. RMA were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Almería. As it stands, Celta are currently 14th with 1 point from 2 matches, while RMA sit in 1st, with 6 points from 2.
RMA didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Karim Benzema opened the rout after 14 minutes. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Iago Aspas producing an equaliser in the 23rd minute, bringing Celta level. However, Los Blancos secured the points emphatically, with a goal from Luka Modric just before halftime, to take a 2-1 lead into half time.
RMA continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Vinicius Junior, 56 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Federico Valverde made it 4-1 in the 66th minute with a final score of 4-1.
Substitutions for Celta included Carles Perez, Gabriel Veiga and Luca de la Torre for Goncalo Paciencia, Oscar and Renato Tapia, repectively. RMA brought on Antonio Rudiger, Lucas Vazquez, Dani Ceballos, Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio, to replace Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior and Eduardo Camavinga.
