Unión 2 – Audax Italiano 3: Visitors ecstatic after win at Estadio Municipal de La Pintana

Audax Italiano defeated Unión Española 3-2 on Monday at Estadio Municipal de La Pintana. Both Unión and Audax Italiano arrived fresh from some positive results. Unión were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Ñublense. Audax Italiano, on the other hand, were coming from a 1-0 win against Everton Viña del Mar. As it stands, Unión and Audax Italiano currently occupy 5th and 7th spots in the league, with 36 points and 33 points respectively after 23 matches.

The first half of the match started well for Audax Italiano, when Michael Fuentes found the net, at 16 minutes. The momentum was now with Audax Italiano, who then scored again through a goal from Carlos Labrin at the 23 minute mark to establish a 2-0. Audax Italiano then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Luis Riveros just before halftime to see out the first half 3-0.

Unión started the second half with renewed vigour, when Ignacio Jara found the net at the 55 minute mark. Unión then netted once more and pull-back thanks to a goal from Octavio Rivero at the 83 minute mark with a final score of 3-2.

Substitutions for Unión included Octavio Rivero, Ignacio Jara and Gabriel Norambuena for Leandro Garate, Ignacio Ibanez and Bryan Rabello, repectively. Audax Italiano brought on German Estigarribia, Oliver Rojas, Marlon Carrasco and Fernando Cornejo, to replace Luis Riveros, Michael Fuentes, Gonzalo Alvarez and Matias Sepulveda.

There were bookings for Stefano Magnasco and Thomas Galdames from Unión. For Audax Italiano, Luis Riveros, Carlos Labrin and Osvaldo Bosso saw yellow.

Unión will next travel to Colo Colo, while Audax Italiano will face Cobresal at home.
