U. Católica 2 – Ñublense 2: Plenty of goals but no winner at San Carlos de Apoquindo

U. Católica were helde ach other to a 2-2 draw by Ñublense on Saturday at San Carlos de Apoquindo. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. U. Católica were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Colo Colo in their previous game. Ñublense, meanwhile, had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with O’Higgins. U. Católica are now in 7th place, with 37 points from 27 matches, while Ñublense sit in 3rd, with 44 points from 27.

U. Católica started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Fernando Zampedri found the net after only 6 minutes. U. Católica then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Clemente Montes in the 23rd minute, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

Ñublense took the initiative in the second half, when Bernardo Cerezo found the net on the 73 minute mark. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Patricio Rubio, at 82 minutes to give a final score of 2-2.

Substitutions for U. Católica included Gonzalo Tapia, Alfonso Parot, Yamil Asad and Juan Leiva for Fabian Orellana, Raimundo Rebolledo, Clemente Montes and Luciano Aued, respectively. Ñublense brought on Patricio Rubio, Rodrigo Antonio Cisterna Arancibia, Fernando Cordero, Branco Provoste and Enzo Guerrero, to replace Matias Moya, Manuel Rivera, Federico Mateos, Jovany Campusano and Alexander Aravena.

There were bookings for Raimundo Rebolledo, Fabian Orellana and Daniel Gonzalez from U. Católica. For Ñublense, Lorenzo Reyes, Rafael Caroca, Hernan Munoz and Nicolas Guerra saw yellow.
