La Serena 2 – Unión La Calera 1: Visitors unable to get win at La Portada

La Serena banked all three points against the Unión La Calera in a 2-1 victory on Sunday, at La Portada. La Serena were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 5-0 to Palestino while Unión La Calera were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against U. Católica and Audax Italiano. La Serena are now in 15th place on the table and have 24 points while Unión La Calera sit in 11th with 36 points after 29 matches.

Unión La Calera started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Lucas Passerini gave them the lead just before half-time, ending the first half 1-0.

La Serena once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Bryan Soto found the net, 65 minutes in. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Federico Andrada on the 67 minute mark to give a final score of 2-1.

Substitutions for La Serena included Bryan Soto, Humberto Suazo, Enzo Ferrario and Ariel Caceres for Lucas Alarcon, Luckas Carreno, Leonardo Valencia and Santiago Dittborn, respectively. Unión La Calera brought on Brayan Garrido, Thomas Rodriguez and Yerco Oyanedel, to replace Matias Cavalleri, Martin Villarroel and Nicolas Orellana.

There were bookings for Leonardo Valencia, Federico Andrada and Bryan Soto from La Serena. For Unión La Calera, Gonzalo Castellani and Henry Sanhueza saw yellow.

La Serena will next travel to Audax Italiano, while Unión La Calera will face Unión Española at home.
