Everton 4 – La Serena 0: Bad day for visitors at Sausalito

Everton Viña del Mar cruises against La Serena on a home win at Sausalito on Saturday. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Everton were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last match 1-0 to Audax Italiano. La Serena lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Huachipato. At the moment, Everton are in 6th place, with 32 points from 23 matches, while La Serena sit in 14th, with 21 points from 23.

Everton started the first half well, when Zacarias Lopez opened the rout at the 36 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Everton continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Victor Sosa in the 58th minute. Everton looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Rodrigo Echeverria, 70 minutes in to establish a 3-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Pedro Sanchez in the 84th minute to make it 4-0.

Substitutions for Everton included Victor Sosa, Felipe Campos, Pedro Sanchez, Cristopher Medina and Alex Ibacache for Matias Campos, Rodrigo Diaz, Sebastian Sosa, Benjamin Berrios and Diego Oyarzun, repectively. La Serena brought on Maximiliano Guerrero, Federico Andrada, Martin Ramirez and Richard Paredes, to replace Jeison Fuentealba, Juan Cavallaro, Jaime Carreno and Ariel Caceres.

There were bookings for Julio Barroso, Benjamin Berrios and Victor Sosa from Everton. For La Serena, Santiago Dittborn and Humberto Suazo saw yellow.

Everton will play their next game away against Huachipato, while La Serena will face U. Católica at home.
