Everton were held to 1-1 draw by Colo Colo down on Saturday at Sausalito. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Everton wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 0-0 draw with O’Higgins in their previous game whilst Colo Colo had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Ñublense. As it stands, Everton are in 7th place in the table and have 21 points while Colo Colo sit in 1st with 30 points after 16 matches.

Everton started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Matias Campos at the 12 minute mark. However, their lead was short lived, as Gabriel Suazo equalised for Colo Colo, 33 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-1. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Everton included Bryan Carvallo, Sebastian Sosa, Janner Corozo, Felipe Campos and John Michael Salas Torres for Cristian Riquelme, Adrian Sanchez, Victor Sosa, Diego Oyarzun and Cristopher Medina, repectively. Colo Colo replaced Matias Zaldivia, Pablo Solari and Pedro Navarro with Gabriel Suazo, Juan Lucero and Marcos Bolados.

The referee booked Benjamin Berrios and Jorge Pena from Everton. Colo Colo had the worst of it though, with Jeyson Rojas seeing yellow, and Jeyson Rojas (2 yellow cards) and Esteban Pavez then sent off with a red.

Everton will next play Coquimbo Unido away, with Colo Colo facing La Serena at home.
