Colo Colo 2 – O’Higgins 0: Visitors unable to get win at Monumental David Arellano

Colo Colo enjoyed a home victory against O’Higgins at Monumental David Arellano on Sunday. Both teams arrived at the match after previous wins. Colo Colo were looking to pick up points, following a 2-0 victory against Coquimbo Unido. O’Higgins were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Cobresal. Colo Colo are now in 1st place on the table and have 59 points while O’Higgins sit in 7th with 41 points after 29 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Colo Colo applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Gabriel Costa, 64 minutes in. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Marco Rojas just before the final whistle to give a final score of 2-0.

Substitutions for Colo Colo included Alexander Oroz, Marco Rojas, Jeyson Rojas, Cesar Fuentes and Bruno Gutierrez for Leonardo Gil, Agustin Bouzat, Oscar Opazo, Esteban Pavez and Gabriel Costa, respectively. O’Higgins brought on Matias Donoso, Matias Belmar and Facundo Castro, to replace Facundo Barcelo, Esteban Moreira and Matias Marin.

There were bookings for Esteban Pavez, Vicente Pizarro and Emiliano Amor from Colo Colo. For O’Higgins, Fabian Hormazabal and Matias Donoso saw yellow.

Colo Colo will next travel to Ñublense, while O’Higgins will face Everton Viña del Mar at home.
