Wigan 0-1 Reading: Tom Ince gives Royals good away win

Wigan Athletic were defeated at home by Reading at Dw Stadium on Saturday. Wigan Athletic were looking to continue their good run after winning their previous two matches against Huddersfield Town away and Luton Town away, by 2-1 and 2-1 respectively. Reading had lost their previous match against Sunderland AFC. Wigan Athletic are now in 12th place on the table and have 13 points while Reading sit in 3rd with 18 points after 11 matches.

Following a goalless first half, Reading continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Tom Ince found the net, at 63 minutes, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Wigan Athletic included Charlie Wyke, Nathan Broadhead, Anthony Scully and Tom Naylor for Josh Magennis, Thelo Aasgaard, Tendayi Darikwa and Will Keane, respectively. Reading replaced Tyrese Fornah, Lucas Joao, Junior Hoilett and Tom Ince for Mamadou Loum, Yakou Meite, Amadou Mbengue and Andy Carroll.

There were bookings for Graeme Shinnie, Charlie Wyke and Tom Naylor from Wigan Athletic. For Reading, Rahman Baba and Andy Yiadom saw yellow.

Wigan Athletic will next play Rotherham United away, with Reading facing Huddersfield Town at home.
