Sunderland 0-1 Norwich: The Canaries claim excellent win at the Stadium of Light

Sunderland AFC on home loss to Norwich City at Stadium of Light on Saturday. Both Sunderland AFC and Norwich arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Sunderland AFC were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against Stoke City. Norwich were coming from consecutive wins against Millwall and Huddersfield Town. As things stand, Sunderland AFC are in 5th place, with 8 points from 6 matches, while Norwich sit in 8th, with 7 points from 6.

After an uneventful first half, The Canaries continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Josh Sargent gave Norwich the lead, 76 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. Substitutions for Sunderland AFC included Elliot Embleton and Patrick Roberts for Alex Pritchard and Corry Evans, repectively, Norwich brought on Sam Byram, Todd Cantwell, Teemu Pukki and Aaron Ramsey to replace Liam Gibbs, Onel Hernandez, Danel Sinani and Kieran Dowell.

There were bookings for Dennis Cirkin and Luke O’Nien from Sunderland AFC, and Josh Sargent and Tim Krul, for Norwich.
