Stoke 1-1 Swansea: Late Campbell strike denies Potters a home win

On Wednesday, Stoke and Swansea played out a 1-1 draw at Bet365 Stadium. Stoke were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match. Swansea had lost their previous match against Middlesbrough. Stoke and Swansea currently occupy 16th and 21st spots in the table, with 8 points and 6 points respectively after 7 matches.

The first half of the match started favourably for Swansea, when Joel Piroe gave them the lead early in the first half and saw the first half out 1-0.

The Potters took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Tyrese Campbell just before the final whistle, to level the score at 1-1.

Stoke brought on Tyrese Campbell, William Smallbone and Tarique Fosu for Dwight Gayle, Jordan Thompson and Connor Taylor. Swansea brought on Jamie Paterson, Olivier Ntcham and Michael Obafemi, to replace Oliver Cooper, Jay Fulton and Matthew Sorinola.

There were bookings for Connor Taylor from Stoke. For Swansea, Matthew Sorinola and Kyle Naughton saw yellow.

Stoke will next travel to Reading, while Swansea will face Queens Park Rangers at home.
