Stoke 2-0 Blackpool: The Potters take all 3 points at Bet365 Stadium

Stoke City beat Blackpool with a thumping 2-0 victory on Saturday at Bet365 Stadium. Stoke were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last match 2-0 to Millwall. Blackpool were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Reading in their last match. After today’s result, both teams are on 3 points and occupy 9th and 13th places respectively after 2 matches.

Stoke started the match well, with a goal from Harry Clarke in the 33rd minute, saw out the first half 1-0.

The Potters continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Jacob Brown, 74 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Stoke included Tyrese Campbell, Sam Clucas and Jordan Thompson for Dwight Gayle, William Smallbone and Josh Tymon, repectively. Blackpool brought on Theodor Corbeanu, Kenny Dougall, Charlie Patino and Shayne Lavery for Gary Madine, Matty Virtue, Lewis Fiorini and Jerry Yates.

There were bookings for Lewis Baker and Josh Laurent from Stoke, and Kenny Dougall and Callum Connolly, for Blackpool.

Stoke will next travel to Huddersfield Town, while Blackpool will face Swansea City at home.
