Sheffield Utd 2-0 Millwall: The Blades chop down the Lions at Bramall Lane
Millwall fell to an away defeat at the hands of Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday. Sheffield U were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Watford. Millwall, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Stoke City in their last match. As it stands, both teams are on 3 points and occupy 5th and 10th places respectively after 2 matches.
The Blades dominated the first half, when Iliman Ndiaye gave Sheffield U the lead after only 7 minutes. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Sander Berge at the 22 minute mark, finishing the first half 2-0. The second 45 minutes was uneventful with no goals and little action at either end.
Substitutions for Sheffield U included Billy Sharp, Daniel Jebbison and Ben Osborn for Iliman Ndiaye, Rhian Brewster and John Fleck, repectively. Millwall brought on Isaac Olaofe and Tyler Burey for Mason Bennett and George Saville.
There were bookings for Ciaran Clark, Rhys Norrington-Davies and Wes Foderingham from Sheffield U. For Millwall, Mason Bennett and Danny McNamara saw yellow.
Sheffield U will next travel to Middlesbrough, while Millwall will face Coventry City at home.
