Preston North End’s 1-0 win over Luton Town on Saturday, was hard fought at Kenilworth Road. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Luton were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Burnley in their previous game. North End had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Hull City. As the table looks today, Luton and North End sit 20th, (2 points) and 7th, (5 points), in the table respectively, after 3 matches.

It was an impressive opening from The Lilywhites, when Brad Potts found the net, 18 minutes in to see out the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Luton included Elliot Thorpe, Cauley Woodrow and Cameron Jerome for Dan Potts, Luke Freeman and Allan Campbell, repectively. North End brought on Emil Riis, Daniel Johnson, Benjamin Woodburn and Patrick Bauer for Ali McCann, Alan Browne, Robbie Brady and Troy Parrott.

The referee booked six players from North End, Ben Whiteman, Freddie Woodman, Andrew Hughes, Jordan Storey, Daniel Johnson and Ryan Ledson.

Luton will play away against Bristol City, while North End will face Rotherham United at home.
